Lutes Unable to Overcome Deficit, Fall 1-0 to Cal State-East Bay

Box Score

SPOKANE, Wash. - Cal State-East Bay scored a goal late in the first half and made it stand up against a furious Pacific Lutheran attack late in the game for a 1-0 win.

Pioneer forward Ante Jozinovic was able to gain possession of the ball deep in the PLU box and scored just inside the left post in the 42nd minute.

While East Bay (1-1) outshot PLU 9-4 in the first period, the Lutes outshot the Pioneers 9-3 in the second half as they attempted to score the equalizing goal. But East Bay keeper Kristopher Hall made four of his five saves in the second period to keep PLU (0-2) at bay.

Daniel Mangum made three saves in goal for the Lutes.
